Raccoons in NYC their Not Just In The Burbs.

February 6, 2010

Welcome back NYC to www.nypestpro.com! Today’s news is about that lovely pest otherwise known as raccoons! Did you know that they exist in some of our neighborhoods here in NYC.  Well guess what! They do and they are very dangerous if you get too close.  In part raccoon’s are cute and you may want to pet them, well don’t do it they; Raccoon’s are by far the most territorial and they will attack you if you get too close.  You may be paying the mortgage NYC, but they own the property.

These pests are big, and can weigh up to 35 pounds, so these pests are huge, they are about 40 inches in length and have a bushy tail with about 4 to 7 black rings.  They have hand like feet that allows them to be able to grab things as well as claw at things.  These pests are crafty to be very careful.  Here at Beyond Pest Control we know our pests and these little critters have a very diverse diet.  Raccoons will eat anything and will tear your garbage up.   Their diets consist of fruit, berries, grain, eggs, poultry, vegetables, nuts, mollusks, fish, insects, rodents, carrion, pet food, and garbage, so don’t be fooled NY they are not picky eaters.

These pests are nocturnal, which means that they come out at night-time so you very rarely see them during the day time.  The males are by far the most territorial, and they may take up to about a 3-20 square mile radius, the females on the other hand are less territorial and build their dens to have their young their territory usually spans about 1 to 6 square miles.  Some signs that we here at Beyond Pest see that you may have a raccoon problem might be, that you have scratches on your garbage cans and the garbage has been torn open.

Please be careful though NYC because if you have these pests and see them during the day, they might be sick, so keep away from them and contact your closest pest control center.

One way to get rid of these pests would be to set traps with dog food; they seem to love the stuff. After your pest control professional is contacted and you have caught them, call them immediately and they will be able to set  them free far away from you.  Here at Beyond we do not kill raccoons, we will trap them and set them free far enough away in a wooded area so that they will never be frequent visitors in your back yard again.  So here you are NYC, once again Beyond comes through.  We know pests, and we never let you go a week without getting rid of the problem.  So I hope you have a great day and I will see you in a little bit NYC to discuss another pest in which we all have seen, and/or had to live with.  Our job here at Beyond Pest Control is never done, that’s why we are NY Pest Pro’s.  “We don’t cut corners, we spray them!”

Roaches still NYC’s unwanted Visitor. A Few Words from a Pest Control Expert.

January 25, 2010

Well, Here we are NYC! Back again., with love from our family here at www.nypestpro.com to yours.  Our wonderful topic this morning would have to be that very ugly bug called the roach.  Many of us that live here in NYC have had these bugs, or have seen them in homes or even on the subway.  Well, here Beyond Pest Control will tell you a bit about them in terms of diseases, and how to get rid of them.  Now NYC, once you see a roach make sure that you act quickly because these bugs will multiply in seconds, you do not want this to happen to you trust me.

Most roaches like to hide out in kitchens because of the warmth and food crumbs that fall on the floor.  Now there are two different kinds that we see NYC, For starters we all have seen the German cockroach, otherwise known as the water bug, and these are the really scary huge ones that all of us girls see and scream.  The second one is the one that we see in our apartments and that one is called also the German roach but it is smaller in size, and these guys hang out in your kitchen.

In most cases roaches are hard to take care of on your own, so here at Beyond we know bugs and we will give you some tips on how to get rid of these pests.  For starters roaches can cause asthma, so if you have young children you will see that they can develop this disease and believe me it isn’t easy having a child with asthma.  Now NYC, for the good part! How to get rid of these pests. First, if you have a lot of them you have to contact your pest control center, and if you don’t you may use certain products like Raid and bait traps, now if that doesn’t work them you have to call you pest professional and they will be able to use certain sprays and these are all sprays that we use to spray baseboards, under and behind your appliances like refrigerators, microwaves etc. these sprays give you the long term control that you need on order to get rid of these pests.  Then we also use a dust in order to get rid of these pests.  Roaches are nasty NYC and so you have to be very careful, in order for you to be happy, healthy, and safe.  And so this concludes today’s article NYC and I hope to see you soon without these pests.  Remember NYC in order to be bug free you have to call the best and that is us here at Beyond, we don’t mess around with bugs, we don’t like them in our homes or yours, so don’t mess with Beyond pest control, because we kill bugs.  So once aging good night NYC we will see you soon to discuss once again, another pest.

Ohh and don’t forget to check out or blog

The NYC House Mouse your Roomate.

January 21, 2010

All of us here at one time or another have had a run-in or two with a little rodent we here at Beyond Pest Control like to mice.  Well, NYC and Beyond are here to tell you a bit about this little rodent.

First of all here at Beyond Pest Control, would like to give you the information you will need to get rid of these rodents.  The name of this lovely “house pest” is ironically enough the house mouse, (not too complicated now is it?).  The house mouse is really tiny, only about 1-2 inches long and has very large ears, a small pointy nose and little black beady eyes.  They are usually grey or brown in color, but some may be darker.

Second these little rodents will eat anything but if they can get their hands on cereal or anything sweet they will destroy your cupboard.  Also, they don’t drink much water because they get it mainly from their food source.

If the situation permits and your home becomes the perfect spot for these rodents then guess what NYC!! You will have a house filled with lovely mice.  They reproduce very quickly and are mature adults within only 2 months, so that means that they are able to mate and each female can have up to 8 litters in only one year; also, they have anywhere from 4-7 pups or baby mice within that litter.  Having said that you might just be able to imagine NYC the problem and how quickly it will turn to chaos in your home.  These rodents usually nest in warm areas like, behind walls, attics, basements, etc.  So you may not notice 1 or 2 but you will notice 40 or more.  Here at Beyond Pest Control! Our guys know rodents, rodent populations, species, and reproduction, how they live and search for food as well as nesting materials, and behavior.  We take all of this into consideration when placing either bait stations or glue traps, and because we use green products upon request your pets and children will not be affected by the poison; I say this because we may have to place some poison in your kitchen, basement, attic, and living space in general so a child or pet may get to it and if it isn’t green, then you are on the phone with poison control, but at Beyond Pest Control you will not have to worry about that ever happening .  On our website http://www.nypestpro.com is where you will be able to find all of our information including blogs on other pests, as well as some information on our own puppies, family and business.  So we here at Beyond Pest Control know how important it is to keep our pets and family safe along with Planet Earth, Especially in today’s day-and-age!

So from our family to yours visit our website nypestpro.com NY, where you can shoot as an e-mail and comment on our services.  We here at Beyond Pest Control appreciate you NYC!
